They are a rather secret and outlaw group known as We Are The Oracle and they have, in just a short time, become the living  legends of underground Paris nightlife. For the last five years, these hearty renegades have been hosting invitation only parties at some of Paris’ most secluded and unknown venues.

They have hosted parties at empty chateau’s, the catacombs and even at some long forgotten train tracks. it originally began as a small group of influencers who decided to just throw themed affairs and rely on word of mouth to attract the crowds. the group soon decided that they would crank up the level of exotic and ran a video last October inviting whoever wanted to come to a masquerade ball. It was in line with their themed based affairs. their party in Paris’ famed catacombs was also a huge success. It had been a cozy dinner party for forty deep beneath the streets of The City of Lights.

January’s affair seemed to be the tipping point for the group as they had nearly 3,000 people show up adorned for a masquerade ball that may have been thrown by one of France’s 18th Century kings. They held it at an abandoned house downtown near the Arc de Triomphe. This, however, was no ordinary house. It contained at least seventy rooms and was seen stories tall.

There was a winding Gone-With-The-Wind staircase and an orchestra playing at the bottom of it while the decked out swirled around a dance floor doing the waltz. There were powdered wigs, flowing gowns and exotic feather laced masks on sticks. It seemed straight out of a steamy romance novel or from the movie Eyes Wide Shut. To accommodate all who wanted t attend, the ball was spread out over two consecutive weekends. All of that adventure, allure, naughtiness and mystique had only cost the revelers only $70 each.

Previous parties included a happening at a long abandoned farm with a Mafia theme as well as an upcoming workers themed affair where everyone will be expected to dress like Russian peasants or workers during the Communist era. For We Are The Oracle, they believe it is all about the people who attend. For them, the guests are the party.

So, the next time you want more than the same old dance club or nightspot, Visit the daring renegades at We Are The Oracle and book your epic adventure to the wily and secretive underground of Paris.
